Entertainment programme announced for Great Days Out

Visitors to Great Days Out group travel event should expect much more than just meetings and networking thanks to an exciting programme of features and activities planned to take place throughout the day.

The Entertainment Arena will be the main hub of activity offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy a stellar cast of performers, live music and displays.

Music lovers should look out for a performance of Beatles and Elvis classics, given a folk twist by the Beatles Story. Meanwhile budding chefs can enjoy a cooking demonstration by Robert Owen Brown, Head Chef at Salford's Mark Addy. Robert will cook up some recipes from A Taste of Modern History, a new book which focuses on traditional North West dishes from the past, published by Modern History, the organisation charged with promoting Great Manchester's history and heritage.

Food Connect are also planning a special cooking demonstration, whilst Flamingo Land will be offering animal lovers the opportunity to handle some of their friendly little critters, and Pontins Blue Coats will take to the stage to show off their act.

There's also plenty going on away from the Entertainment Arena, including:

• Great Days Out Talks sponsored by Saga - Hear from leading industry professionals as they share their knowledge and discuss issues and trends in the travel market.

• B2B Lounge sponsored by VisitEngland - A calm, business focused space off the main show floor where group travel organisers can conduct private meetings with representatives from leading exhibiting organisations.

• Great Days Out Library sponsored by Modern History - Pick up a Modern History Passport from the library and whilst exploring the show, collect stamps from selected exhibitors to enter a free prize draw for a chance to win a short break. Get advice from Blue & Green Badge Tourist Guides in the library and peruse a wide selection of inspirational tourist information.

• Farmer's Market sponsored by Food Connect - The farmers' market is an old favourite which brings a host of local good food produce to the show. Sample delicacies, buy a treat to take home and enjoy live cookery demonstrations from the region's leading chefs.

• Attendees can brush up their cyber-skills at the interactive Internet Travel Workshop which offers beginners tips and advice on how to use the internet to its full potential when organising group trips.
